Nico came and installed new pipe work for 2 radiators in my home, he was really professional, knowledgeable and gave me confidence that he knew what he was doing, which he does. The installation wasn’t the easiest on one of the radiators but he managed to get it so it looked just how I wanted. Really pleased with his work and would highly recommend. Highly recommended - Nico installed and certified a hot water cylinder for me - he turned up on time, was easy to communicate with and did the job for the agreed price - if only all tradespeople were the same !
We cover a range of plumbing tasks such as pipe freezing (when turning the water off is impossible), installation and replacements of taps, shower cartridges, hot water cylinders, leak detection, central heating repairs. We serve Battersea, Clapham, Chelsea, Lambeth, Putney, Dulwich, Wandsworth and most W, SW and SE postcodes.
Please send a message (WhatsApp preferred) and we guarantee a reply as soon as possible and in any case by the end of the day at the latest.
To make sure our response is as quick and effective as possible, please include:
A brief description and some photos and/or videos will help us identify common issues, recognise fittings and any spares we might need to source in advance in order to finish the job quickly and efficiently (and at less cost to you!). It will also help us estimate the time required to complete the job, which in turn will help us schedule the job sooner.
Please tell us if the water can be easily turned off. If unsure, please let us know. This is crucial given that most plumbing tasks require the water to be isolated. We do have contingency plans if this is not possible, but this would of course add to the workload (and the cost!) or in extreme cases, it could make the job impossible without involving third parties (especially in blacks of flats).
- the type of property (blocks of flats, new build, maisonette, terraced house etc.)
- your address including postcode to help us plan our visit
- the best day/ time to attend. We will do our best to accommodate.
We will do our best to arrive in the specified time window, fully stocked with all the parts and materials needed to complete the job.
Once the job is completed, you can easily settle your payment by credit/ debit card or contactless.
TrustNico was founded by Nico Sabatini, a professional guitarist and composer for 30 years, in response to the shutdown of the music business at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. The need to ‘think quickly outside the box’ meant enrolling in a subsidised Diploma course in Plumbing and continuing onto an NVQ and subsequent enrolment onto the Watersafe register (Thames Water’s approved directory of Registered Plumbers).
In an emergency, it’s crucial to act quickly to minimise damage. First, turn off the main water supply to prevent flooding and damage. Should you not have an internal stop valve, houses usually have one in the pavement in front of the property boundary. Blocks of flats might have stop valves on the landings or communal areas. Secondly, it’s essential to open a few taps (hot and cold) to dissipate the pressure in the pipework. Then, call us on 07507 719191. We can provide a rapid response to fix problems such as burst pipes, failed joints etc.
Payment is on completion of the work. We take all major credit and debit cards and issue a fully itemised VAT receipt upon payment
All properties should have means to turn off the water at the point where the supply pipe enters. Often customers tend not to be aware of the importance of this until there is an emergency, at which point it might be too late! Other times, there simply isn’t one because many properties have a history of renovations and redesign and a need for a stopcock is not always taken into account. In many cases the stopcock is under the kitchen sink, in the cellar, under the stairs on the ground floor but at very least there should be one outside in the pavement in the meter box. In blocks of flats it’s advisable to consult the management or the caretaker. Knowing where the stopcock is can potentially save you thousands of pounds worth of damage in an emergency.
most people do not realise the importance of servicing these appliances until problems such as loss of pressure and leaks appear. It is also vital that the correct operation of all safety devices is checked regularly. Most manufacturers require the cylinder be serviced yearly by a specially qualified engineer who can sign the benchmark certificate. Please call us to arrange the early maintenance of you hot water system.
To prevent pipes from freezing during London’s cold winters, call us to arrange the insulation of exposed pipes with foam pipe insulation. Keep your home’s heating on ‘frost prevention’, even when you’re away, to maintain a steady temperature.
We offer a preliminary inspection service, looking for internal leaks that might have gone undetected (but were highlighted by the water company). This consists in inspecting any overflows, safety discharge valves, toilet fill valves, irrigation systems, garden taps, supply pipe etc. We can usually either identify and repair the leak within an hour or at very least narrow it down to a specific area. Should the leak be from a buried pipe (supply pipe or pipes in screed etc.) this might become a job for a specialist company offering acoustic detection or gas detection and excavation. We do not currently offer this service.
Yes we can certify all notifiable work for compliance with the Water Regulations.
Most plumbing jobs involving mains water pipework require isolating the water upstream of the point where work takes place, so that the pipework can be cut and jointed. If unable to isolate the water (this sometimes happens in old blocks of flats, or where there is a very old and ‘seized up/ stopcock) the plumber might be unable to carry out the work, or would have to carry out extra work to isolate the water, which would result in additional costs. Many people think: “he’s the professional, he should know how to turn the water off!”, and often the plumber has a pretty good idea. However, each property has been endlessly renovated over the years and the plumbing system often tweaked (often not by plumbers), so unfortunately, while the water regulations state that a stopcock is required, there is no guarantee.
Lead replacement involves laying a new MDPE (blue plastic) supply pipe. This can be done after excavating a trench, or by moling (which is a procedure that involves coring a tunnel underground and automatically laying an MDPE pipe. While we don’t offer this service (and we would have to recommend a suitable specialised company), Thames Water requires a Registered Plumber to make the internal connection and certify compliance with the water regulations. This is a service that we do offer and release the necessary certificate.
